Exploring Okanogan County

I wanted to make one more trip to the lonely highlands of Okanogan County before we say goodbye to Washington in a couple of months. So on Saturday we drove north, north, and farther north along the Columbia River, finally making a u-turn at the Canadian border. Here are some of my favorite spots along the way. The old homesteads below are in Old Molson and Bodie, two mining ghost towns.

How strange… those abandoned houses & orchards. Imagining the days when they were filled with life & why they are not anymore.
I know, it’s great to imagine these little towns in their hey-days, full of people hoping to strike gold.
The orchard was still being cared for though…part of a farm.
